It’s been a crazy last couple of years. I never meant for it to be this long between posts. But I have a great excuse as to why (besides the insanity of real life). It’s finally happened. After more than a decade of work and querying, not only did my portal fantasy, Splintered Realms, get picked up by a small press, it’s now published!
The reality hasn’t properly set in yet. It may not set in for another six months too. Initially Splintered Realms will only be out in e-book. The print version won’t be released for six to nine months, and after so long of a wait to reach this point, the fact that I’m officially a published author may not sink in until I hold a physical copy in my hand. I don’t know. It’ll be funny to see if I have an absolute heart attack when I do finally have it in hand. That’ll be a moment. In all honesty, I wrote the first version of this novel well over a decade ago. It’s been revised more times than I can count, including a couple of revisions that were closer to taking a chainsaw to it than gently carving away at it with a paring knife. But it’s finished, and it’s out. Now all the other work begins: blog tours, securing reviews, postings, contests, marketing, marketing, marketing. When I think of everything I need to do, I get, well, super overwhelmed, especially with all that’s happening in real life as well. So, I’m breaking the marketing into chunks. This week is about making sure my website is dusted off, so to speak, and getting my action plan in place. Next week will be postings and more research. I will also be doing my best from now on to talk about what I’m doing. Which means more blog posts. 😊 Soon I will become a master of budgeting time, or try really damn hard to. Lol. Wish me luck.
