The start of the year is always busy with Pitch events. #IWSGpit and #SFFpit were both in January. There are even more events, on Twitter and off, scheduled for February and March. Here are the ones I know about: February 12-14 is Savvyauthors 2020 Sweetheart Pitchfest. They already have a list of the agents and editors you can pitch to, so you can do your research to figure out who is best for you. This event is a little different from Twitter, as you can pitch to specific people.
February 14th is #Kisspit on Twitter. Of course, it’s on Valentine’s Day. 😊 February 20th is picture book pitch time during #PBpit on Twitter. February 25th has the Pass or Pages Query contest where lucky winners will get feedback from agents about their query. It’s a look into why agents pass or ask for more pages based on a query. (This is not a Twitter event.) February 27th is for those with faith based works, both fiction and nonfiction with #Faithpit on Twitter. March 5th is the pitch bonanza that is #Pitmad on Twitter, the first for 2020. There are more events throughout the year. #Pitmad itself has additional dates posted for June 4th, September 3rd, and December 3rd. #SFFpit usually has a second event in July, or there abouts, but they don’t have anything posted yet. The events I’ve listed above are just the ones I know of so far. Unless my novels get picked up before then, #Pitmad in March will be the next one I’ll be participating in. But I’ll be joining the others to retweet and support my fellow authors when I can.
