Everyone is coping differently with the state of the world at the moment. The only advice I have, is to be gentle with yourself. For me, as I’m a goal-oriented person, setting small goals helps. I have to make them reasonable though. My favorite is brushing my teeth. That’s one, no matter how I’m feeling or what’s happening, I know I’ll get done at some point in the day. I, like many others, am exploring the dimension of the interior of my home. While on my computer, I’m beginning to discover links worth investigating. If you’re a writer getting ready, or already querying, Emma Lombard has a great post with literary agents sharing their top tips and pet peeves regarding query letters. Click here.
If you’re a parent who has suddenly found themselves in the additional role of teacher, there are a lot of learning sites out there that are giving free trials right now. On my list to utilize are Scholastic’s learn at home, IXL, Starfall, and ABCya. (My kids are both young.) I just found out the voice actor who plays Olaf is doing readings. This is on the listen to list for this week with my youngest. For free activities there’s 123homeschool4me. GoNoodle is still my favorite site for helping the kids burn off energy when we’re stuck indoors. If you have Facebook, Berryhill Elementary have a post with an incredible list of sites for all sorts of educational adventures. They have a wide range of ages as well. Here’s the link to that. Whatever your situation, take care of yourself.
